2 soldiers electrocuted in Bandarban

BANDARBAN: Two soldiers of Bangladesh Army electrocuted inside the army region of Bandarban early Monday.

The deceased were identified as M Rubel, 24, son of M Muslem Uddin, hailed from Virlar Tekram village of Dinajpur and Zenerul Haque, 23, son of Alkas Islam, from Shibganj of Chapainawabganj.

Both the soldiers were appointed at the 143 field workshop.

Commanding officer of 69 Region Major Mashiur (BM) told banglanews, “While climbing up a coconut tree at night secretly, they got electrocuted when their iron ladder came in touch of an electric pole.”

They were rushed to Army Hospital at Bandarban Sadar and later, shifted to Combined Medical Hospital (CMH) of Chittagong, where the duty doctor declared him dead, he added.
