A Dhaka court extended the bail of expelled Jubo League Dhaka South unit president Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat in a graft case till October 20.

Dhaka Special Judge Court-6 Judge Al Asad Mohammad Asifuzzaman passed the order on Monday in presence of Samrat.

Today (September 19) was fixed for the charge framing hearing of the case. 

However, Samrat's lawyer Ehsanul Haque Somaji filed a petition to defer the hearing. Later, the court accepted the petition and extended Samrat's bail till October 20.

The ACC filed a complaint against Samrat on November 12, 2019, for acquiring assets worth Tk 2.94 crore beyond his known sources of income.

In October 2019, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Samrat and his associate Enamul Haque Arman from Chauddagram in Cumilla.

On August 22, Samrat was released from jail after securing bail in all four cases.
