Dhaka: Police detained around 400 people from different areas in the capital Sunday.

Of them, on-duty police sub-inspector Shahadat said, five including Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal convener of Jagannath University Golam Mowla Shahin, were arrested from Victoria Park area in the morning.

Earlier police detained 273 people from different spots of Lalbagh, Sutrapur, Kotwali, Bongshal, Hazaribagh, Shahbagh and Shah Ali area.

Others were nabbed from Uttara, Badda, Khilgaon and Jatrabari Thana area, police added.
