The ruling Awami League (AL) is set to start distributing nomination forms on April 9 for the five city corporations elections. 
 
The party has asked nomination-aspirants to collect application forms and submit those between 11am and 4pm every day from April 9 to 12 at AL president Sheikh Hasina's political office in the city's Dhanmondi area.

A party press release signed by AL office secretary Biplab Barua was issued in this regard. 
 
As per the Election Commission's (EC) schedule, Gazipur City Corporation polls will be held on May 25, Khulna and Barishal City Corporations on June 12 and Rajshahi and Sylhet City Corporations polls will be held on June 21.
 
The nomination forms will also be distributed for the chairman port of Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh district and mayoral posts in five municipalities (Pourasava)-Cox's Bazar Sadar, Araihazar of Narayanganj, Gopaldi, Talora of Bogura and Basail of Tangail, said the press release. 
 
Nomination seekers must carry a photocopy of their national identity cards for collecting application forms.

The application form must be collected and submitted by the candidate himself/herself or through a qualified representative of the candidate concerned by 4pm on April 12.

The nomination seekers have been asked to follow proper health rules during the entire time.
