BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's adviser Khandaker Abdul Muktadir was released three hours after his arrest from the Sylhet Osmani International Airport area on Saturday (April 8) afternoon.

Sudip Das, additional deputy commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) confirmed the matter.

The police released him from Kotwali Police Station after he gave police the court's arrest warrant recall order. 

Earlier today, police arrested Muktadir from Sylhet Airport area in connection with a case over an attack on police on October 15, 2018. 

BNP leaders and activist said that he came to Sylhet from Dhaka to participate in a sit-in programme of BNP and to attend an Iftar Mahfil of BNP's Sylhet district unit.
