BNP’s associate bodies- Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal and Swechchasebak Dal- will hold a protest programs across the country today (August 3) against the court verdict given to its acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Zubaida Rahman in a graft case.

Earlier on August 2, BNP and its associate bodies announced the programs on Thursday and Friday to protest against the court verdict. 

Besides, both the Dhaka Metropolitan north and south units of the party will hold protest rallies in front of its central office in Naya Paltan tomorrow. 

On August 2, Tarique Rahman was sentenced to nine years' imprisonment while his wife Zubaida Rahman three-year jail sentence in a graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in 2007.

Judge Md Asaduzzaman of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court delivered the judgment in their absence.
