Awami League leaders and activists from various parts of the city have thronged the peace rally at the South Gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque today (October 28).
Awami League people from different parts of Dhaka city and Dhaka district, including different wards, thanas, and sub-districts, congregated at the premises of the South Gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
The city's political atmosphere was highly charged, as the Awami League conducted a peaceful rally at the southern gate of Baitul Mukarram simultaneously with the BNP's grand rally in Naya Paltan.
The Dhaka North and South Awami League organized this peace rally. Bangladesh Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader is scheduled to address the rally as the chief guest later in the day.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of Dhaka city, representatives from Bangladesh Awami League and its affiliated groups are addressing the audience at the peace rally, demonstrating the unity of local leaders and activists who have come together to make their voices heard.
The theme of the event is "Peace and Development," and it serves as a platform for the Awami League to express their opposition to what they view as a conspiracy by the BNP and Jamaat involving militancy and anti-state activities.
With a substantial police presence blocking access to Baitul Mukarram, Awami League members carried banners and party leaders addressed the crowd, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining order and stability.
The gathering is gradually growing in size, resembling a sea of Awami League supporters. Additionally, in the surrounding neighborhoods of the city, the Awami League and its affiliated organizations have established surveillance and information booths to ensure the safety and coordination of their participants.
The peace rally at Baitul Mukarram is a symbol of democratic expression and the unwavering dedication of these leaders and activists to their cause.
