Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that the party may allocate some seats to its alliances if they reach a consensus. 

Quader said this while replying to a question from journalists at the AL president's political office in the capital on Tuesday (November 28). 

AL will field candidates in 300 seats in the 12th parliamentary election, he added. 

Quader also said that AL does not have any plan to bring BNP to the election. 

However, the AL will welcome them if they decide to join, he added. 

Earlier on November 27, Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud also said Awami League seats will be adjusted after an understanding with the alliances.

The ruling AL announced candidates for 298 constituencies on November 26 for the upcoming 12th national election slated for January 7.
