Nomination papers of former Jatiya Party (JaPa) leader Mashiur Rahman Ranga, an independent candidate for Rangpur-1 constituency in the 12th parliamentary election, were suspended on the first day of the nomination selection process.
His nomination was suspended during the scrutiny of nomination papers at the District Election Office of Rangpur on Saturday (December 2).
Sources said that his nomination has reportedly been put on hold due to case related issues.
Ranga has been asked to submit the case-related papers by 4pm today. After scrutinising those papers, the returning officer will decide about his nomination.
Ranga could not get a nomination from JaPa for the upcoming parliamentary election.
