Whip Shamsul fined for violating electoral rules

Independent candidate and Jatiya Sangsad Whip Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury was fined Tk 2,500 for obstructing people’s movement in Patiya upazila of Chattogram on Wednesday.

He obstructed the people’s movement by holding a street rally in Goboindarkhil area under the upazila headquarters around 3:00 pm.

On information, a team led by Senior Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Ehsan Murad rushed to the spot and fined Shamsul Hoque Tk 2,500.

Angry people demonstrate again with brooms against Shamsul Hoque

Besides, angry locals also staged a demonstration with brooms against Shamsul Hoque in Bahuli High School area of the upazila this afternoon

Some 50-60 men and women also brought out a procession with brooms and chanted slogans against the independent candidate.

Earlier, women at Kachua union chased the Shamsul’s supporters with brooms for derogatory comments against a woman leader of the Awami League.
