A bail petition of Bangladesh Jatiyo Party Chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partho has been rejected by the Dhaka court today (August 2) in a case filed over vandalising and setting Setu Bhaban in Dhaka on fire on July 18.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rashidul Alam passed the order and sent Partho to jail.

Abu Sayeed Miah, an inspector of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police and also the investigation officer in the case, produced Partho before the court on completion of his three-day remand in the case today.

At this time, the court also directed the jail authorities to provide him with first class division in jail as per the Jail Code.

According to report prepared by the DB official Partho has provided important information regarding the case, which is being verified. 

Therefore, the IO appealed to the court to confine him in jail until the investigation is completed.
