A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police took Ramesh Chandra Sen, a former minister and MP of Thakurgaon-1 constituency, into their custody after detaining him from his residence on Friday night.
The DB police detained him from his residence in Ruhia area in the district around 11pm on Friday, according to local Awami League leaders.
At this time, Ruhia police station officer-in-charge (OC) Gulfamul Islam Mandal accompanied them, they said.
“A team of DB police in plain clothes detained him and took him into their custody. We cooperated DB in this regard,” the OC said.
The OC declined to mention any reason about his detention.
