Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum (BJAF) today (Oct 14) demanded the immediate withdrawal of all false cases filed against BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

At this time, BJAF leaders warned the government saying, “If cases are not withdrawn lawyers’ society be forced to take to the streets”.

A press briefing in this regard was held at Supreme Court bar building on Monday.

Advocate Jaynal Abedin, president of the forum said "Different political parties and students have been struggling for 17 years against the fascist government for democracy. BNP and the party Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman have led this struggle with various political parties."

“We strongly demand immediate withdrawal of all these false cases filed against Tarique Rahman, Otherwise, the legal society will be forced to take to the streets again,' he warned.

In the written statement, BJAF leaders also said that the fugitive Sheikh Hasina, accused of the July genocide, should be brought back to the country and face trial. Besides, “We demand that the current interim government should complete the necessary reforms and announce the election roadmap for the return of democracy in the country.”
