BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has said that his party will rehabilitate the families of those injured and deceased in the recent mass uprising if it assumes power.
He made the announcement during a visit to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) in Dhaka on Thursday (Nov 14).
Salahuddin said, "Although the injured protesters have received some medical attention, they have not been provided with sufficient financial support. BNP would take comprehensive steps to ensure their rehabilitation once in power."
During his visit, Salahuddin Ahmed also announced a donation of BDT 5 lakh on behalf of BNP to support the injured.
Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi accompanied him, and both leaders inquired about the treatment of those under medical care.
"The condition of many injured individuals is still critical. Some of them require treatment that is not available locally. Therefore, we urge authorities to send them abroad for better medical assistance," Salahuddin said, adding that the party had previously extended support to the injured protesters.
