BNP Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman expressed concern that prolonging discussions on the reformation proposal would deepen the country's crisis.
He made the remark while speaking virtually at a training workshop titled "31 Points for Repairing State Structure and Public Engagement," organized by Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP in Kadamtali, Dhaka, on Sunday (February 2).
At this time he warned that delaying the electoral process and extending reform talks would allow the previous "fascist regime" to tighten its grip on the people.
He said that only BNP had raised its voice during the previous regime and that the party had announced the 31-point reform plan two and a half years ago.
Tarique Rahman claimed there were not many differences between BNP’s 31 point reform agenda and the government's proposed reforms.
“I urge the government from a political party’s standpoint—please do not prolong reform discussions. The longer these discussions continue, the more the country will face a crisis,” he added.
