Law enforcement agency in the past 24 hours arrested 34 leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL), Jubo League, and the banned organization Chhatra League from different areas of Chattogram city.

The arrests were made between Tuesday (February 4) at 2:00 PM and Wednesday (February 5) at 2:00 PM during a special operation.

According to Chattogram Metropolitan Police's Media and Public Relations Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mahmuda Begum, the detainees were arrested under the Special Powers Act and Anti-Terrorism Act. 

They are accused of attacking student protesters during an anti-discrimination movement, the official added.
