A local leader of Swechchhasebak Dal, Mamun Hossain, was shot dead by miscreants in Fatullah, Narayanganj, early Friday morning. The incident occurred around 4:30 am on the railway line in Fatullah.

Mamun Hossain, 40, was a joint convener of the Thana Swechchhasebak Dal and a businessman in the brick, sand, and cement industry. 

According to his manager, Azad Mia, Mamun left home at 2 am after overseeing the loading of sand and bricks. 

At 4:30 am, Mamun was returning when several gunshots were heard. Azad and others rushed to the scene to find Mamun lying injured, with two young men, aged approximately 26-28, fleeing the area.

Mamun was rushed to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead due to the gunshot wounds. The police have launched an investigation into the murder.
