Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, the adviser of youth and sports said the government will take swift action on banning Awami League.
He made the remark in an interview with Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) on Friday (February 7).
In response to a question about the government’s plans to ban the Awami League, Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan said that the government will take swift action in this regard.
He reassured that the government is committed to fulfilling the demands of the people of Bangladesh.
Bhuiyan said that it is a positive sign that political parties are reaching a consensus on banning the Awami League.
He explained that the public could not accept the undemocratic and stubborn behaviour of the Awami League before and after August 5. This led to the formation of a consensus to ban the party.
Asif Mahmud further added that such unity among political parties would make it easier for the government to implement any decisions.
