DHAKA: Opposition Leader of Bangladesh Raushan Ershad remarked that sustainable development is possible if both Bangladesh and India will work together.
She came up with this assertion while speaking to media immediately after her meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel’s in city around 3:20pm Sunday.
Raushan said, “The crisis of 54 joint rivers between Bangladesh and India will be solved gradually. So, we should hold patience on this issue”.
“The Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) has been signed and we also hoped that Teesta Agreement will be signed soon. If the two neighboring countries work together, it will improve Bangladesh’s socio-economic condition,” she added.
Earlier the opposition leader reached the hotel around 3:15pm and met the Indian premier around 3:20pm and discussed several matters for 20 minutes.
Jatiya Party former secretary general ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, and opposition chief whip M Tajul Islam, among other, joined the meeting.
