12 BNP men sent to jail in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH: A district court on Monday noon sent 12 leaders and activists of BNP and its associates to jail after denying their bail.

The arrestees are among 53, accused in a case of petrol bomb attack on a cattle-carrying truck in Chuadanga Bus Stand in Jhenaidah district town.

Earlier, Jhenaidah municipality unit BNP president Zahiduzzaman Mona, its general secretary Abdul Majid Biswas, joint-secretary Saiful Islam, organizing secretary Shahjahan Ali, Jubo Dal leader Sohag Hossain and Chhatra Dal leader Milon, among 12, appealed for bail.

Denying the bail, Jhenaidah senior judicial magistrate Bishwanath Mandal passed the order to send them to jail.

Jhenaidah sadar upazila chairman and also BNP sadar upazila unit general secretary Abdul Alim confirmed the matter to banglanews.
