DHAKA: A Dhaka court Wenesday rejected the remand plea for BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a case on charge of vandalism of vehicles and arson attacks.
The court also rejected the BNP leader’s bail plea and ordered the police to inquire him at the jail gate within three working days.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Maruf Hossian passed the orders after hearing police’s 10-day remand plea for Rizvi filed by Paltan Thana SI masud Munshi.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Mirash Uddin moved the remand petition for the state while Advocates Sanaullah Mia, Zoynul Abedin mexbah and Masud Ahemd Talukder stood for bail petition of the BNP leader in the court.
The court ordered the police to inquire him at the jail gate within three working days, rejecting the bail plea.
On December 29 last year, the case was filed against him and others on charge of violence, including vandalism, arson attack on vehicles.
