CHITTAGONG: Police, in special drives, arrested 99 persons, including three activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from different parts of Chittagong district.

The drives were conducted from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.

Moreover, police seized two LGs, one round cartridge and 22 liters liquor during the drives.

Chittagong additional Superintendent of police (Special Branch) Mohammad Naimul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Among the arrestees, two activists are from Jamaat and one from Shibir, he added.

According to him, the arrestees are accused in different cases including of creating sabotage.
