DHAKA: The High Court granted bail to BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in three cases on charge of subversive acts.
The bench of Justice M Nuruzzman and Justice Abdur Rob on Thursday passed the order after hearing on rule issued on Fakhrul’s bail.
BNP chairperson’s adviser Khandaker Mahbub Hossain moved for Fakhrul’s bail petition.
Barrister Rafiqul Haq and barrister Moudud Ahmad were also present in the court.
On April 16, the High Court issued a rule asking why bail would not be granted to the detained Mirza Fakhrul.
In December last year and January this year, police filed the case with Paltan Thana for instigating different subversive activities, including torching vehicles, vandalism.
