Mahbub demands India deals to place at JS

DHAKA: Advisor to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and also Supreme Court Bar Association president Khandker Mahbub Hossain demanded the government to place the agreements signed with India at Bangladesh National Parliament.

The BNP leader made the demand at a view exchange program, followed by an iftar, at National Press Club in city on Saturday afternoon.

Swadinata Forum central committee organized the program titled ‘New Agreements with India: Expectation and Reality’.

Khandker Mahbub said governments usually place the international agreements at their respective parliaments. But the agreements signed with India are not placed at the national parliament.

Even, the government did not issue a statement regarding the accords, he added.

National Awami Party (NAP) president Jebel Rahman Gani and Kalyan Party chairman Major (retd) Syed Mohammad Ibrahim, among others, spoke at the event, chaired by Swadinata Forum president Abu Naser Mohammad Rahmatullah.
