DHAKA: Police detained five members of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Chhatra Shibir with cocktails and party books from city’s Khilgaon area.

Acting on tip off, a team of Khilgaon Thana police raided a building located at block-c of Khilgaon area around 12:30am of Friday. 

Khilgaon Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Kazi Mainul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

During the drive, five members of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir held and recovered  five cocktails, explosives, books written by Gulam Azam, Moududi, Matiur Rahman Nizami and many more party books from the house.

Law enforcers had information that the detainees were planning here to conduct sabotage in the country, the OC further said.

The detainees are being interrogated. Legal action would be taken against them, Kazi Mainul added.
