DHAKA: Jatiya Party (JP) chairman HM Ershad on Tuesday (January 19) sacked Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu from the secretary general position of the party.

He also announced Ruhul Amin Hawlader as the new secretary general as per rights of party chairman.

Ershad disclosed the decisions in a press conference at Banani party office in city in the afternoon.

Earlier, reactions arose within the party as he made his brother GM Kader, also presidium member and former minister, the co-chairman of the party on January 17.

However, supporters of JP chief’s wife and also Opposition leader Raushan Ershad went angry in the announcement and declared her as the acting chairman of the party.
