DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will hold its national council on March 19, said party’s joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

He said this at a press conference held at BNP central office at Naya Paltan in city on Friday (February 5).

Rizvi said that Public Works Department has given nod to BNP to hold its national council at Suhrawardy Udyan, slated for March 19.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is yet to give permission the hold the council, he added.

Rizvi alleged police forces are harassing BNP leaders-activists and general people. the forces has turned into a unlawful institution for beating up commoners without any valid reason. Ruling party has turned the country into a heaven of misrule.

He further said that letters have already been sent to party leaders-activists across the country asking them to make the forthcoming council a success.

BNP self dependent affairs secretary Ruhul Kuddus Talukder Dulu, central leaders Habibur Rahman Habib, advocate Masud Ahmed Talukder, mass education affairs secretary Sana Ullah Mia were also present at the press meet.
