DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Mohammad Asaduzzaman Mia said that BNP did not seek permission to hold November 7 rally in city’s Nayapaltan area.
He made the assertion to the media after a certificate distribution program at Public Order Management (POM) in Mirpur on Saturday (November 5).
“We did not get any written application from BNP seeking permission to hold they rally at Nayapaltan on November 7.”
He further said that they will take decision on the ground of security after getting the appeal from BNP.
Regarding the rally at Suhrawardi Udyan, the commissioner said, “We did not give permission of arranging rally at Suhrawardi Udyan as several organizations appealed for their rallies on the same day and at the same place”.
