DHAKA: The leaders and activists of ruling Awami League will also be on alert position on the streets protesting any demonstrations of opposition BNP on October 25.

The central leaders of the party came up with the disclosure from the party’s central office on Thursday noon.

The leaders and activists of Awami League will take position in city’s mosques, roads with the maximum supremacy of the party to protest BNP and Jamaat violence.

Awami League joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said to protest any kind of violence was their sacred duty. In favor of democracy, Awami League activists will oppose the medieval fashioned anarchy of BNP, he added.

He further said the government would be effective by the constitution until January 24, the period of expiry of the government.

Joint general secretary of AL Jahangir Kabir Nanok said that the BNP-Jamaat men might attack secretly. “So, we need to be in alert position. They might use mosques to do further brutality which need to be protested by mass people along with AL activists,” she said.

Dhaka City Awami League general secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya urged the people to identify the BNP-Jamaat men and hand over them to law enforcers after a good beating.

Party’s General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif disclosed about their rally on October 25 though it is dependable on the permission of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

Acting president of Dhaka City AL MA Aziz chaired the meeting. State Minister for Law and joint general secretary of Dhaka City Awami League Advocate Quamrul Islam and central leaders of the party were also present.
