AL won’t hold rally on Oct 25

DHAKA: Ruling Awami League decided not to hold rally in the capital on October 25 Friday as they did not get permission from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

However party’s leaders and activists will take position in all points of the capital and mosque, so that BNP-Jamaat activists could not unleash violence on the day.

General Secretary of Dhaka city Awami League Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya confirmed the matter to banglanews on Thursday evening.

Over the rally, he said: “DMP did not give permission to us. So we decided not to hold the rally as we are respectful to law.”

Besides, DMP allowed 18-party alliance to hold rally October 25 at Shurawardy Uddyan instead of Nayapaltan on 13 conditions.
