NOAKHALI: 18-party alliance is observing the second consecutive day of 60-hour hartal amid vandalizing press vehicles, arson, cocktails blast, torching tires and obstructing roads by putting logs in the district Monday.

Sources said that pickets vandalized a newspaper-carrying microbus on Chowmuhani-Sonapur road in front of the Globe Biscuit Factory of Begumganj Upazila at around 6.30am Monday.

Newspaper distributor Multanur Rahman Manna termed the act as shocking.

Besides, the hartal supporters blasted 8/10 cocktails in various areas of the Sadar Upazila.

Superintendent of Police Anisur Rahman (PPM) told banglanews that Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel along with police have been patrolling the area to thwart any sabotage.
