17 March 2012- Opposition BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury detained for his alleged involvement with the crimes against humanity has been kept under observation in National Heart Institute and Hospital in the city for on Saturday morning. The family members of the BNP leader said he felt seriously sick in Kshimpur central jail after he suffered from heart decease on Wednesday night. Later, he was admitted to Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the Hospital on Thursday night. banglanews24.com

18 March 2012- The High Court directed the government to remove all billboards, leaf-late, posters and banners of probable candidates of Dhaka City Corporations within 10 days.  The Court also issued a rule upon the administrators to explain why hanging banners and posters and building structures for election campaigns before announcement of schedules ‘should not be declared illegal’. banglanews24.com

19 March 2012- The International Crimes Tribunal Monday fixed March 25 for next indictment hearing against former Jamaat Ameer Prof Ghulam Azam for his alleged crimes against humanity during the country’s Liberation War in 1971. The tribunal fixed the new date for hearing due to absence of one justice among three of the tribunal. 20 March 2012- The 12th session of ninth parliament was adjourned on Tuesday till March 29. Speaker Advocate Abdul Hamid adjourned the session Tuesday. On January 25, the 12th session of the ninth parliament began, in the wake of some major developments in the country’s political arena and was scheduled to continue till March 8. Ending all the speculations, the BNP-led opposition lawmakers finally joined the parliament on March 18 after a one-year absence. 21 March 2012- The High Court asked the government to shut down some pages of Facebook (FB) and websites, which are spreading propaganda against Islam. The court also directed the government to take punitive actions against persons involved. An HC bench comprising Justice Mirza Hossain Haider and Justice Mohammad Khurshid Alam Sarker passed the interim suo-moto order Wednesday following a writ petition filed by Dhaka University teacher Batul Sarwar and a law college Principal M Nurul Islam. banglanews24.com

22 March 2012- The government has formed the second tribunal in a bid to accelerate the trial of crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971. The law, justice and parliamentary affairs ministry issued a gazette notification on forming the second International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) at 6:10pm Thursday. banglanews24.com 

23 March 2012- The pro-AL panel won in eight posts, including general secretary while pro-BNP panel got victory in six posts with president in the annual election of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) held on March 21 and 22. According to the results announced early Friday, Zainul Abedin of JAOP was elected as president by securing 1,494 votes while his close contester Munsurul Haque Chowdhury of SASP got 1,475 votes. On the other hand, Momtaz Uddin Ahmed Mehedi of SASP won the post of secretary by securing 1,516 votes while his contester Helaluddin Mollah of JAOP got 1446 votes. banglanews24.com
