14 April 2012- Indian Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly shot dead a Bangladeshi national in Shibganj Upazila. 15 April 2012- A Dhaka court Sunday issued arrest warrant against nine fugitive accused of JU student Jubayer killing case. The court also ordered to confiscate the wealth of the accused. Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Wasim Sheikh passed the order after receiving the charge sheet against the accused. The court fixed May 7 for submitting report in this regard. banglanews24.com

16 April 2012- The High Court Monday stayed the polls of bifurcated Dhaka City Corporation for three months.  A HC bench comprising Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury and Justice Jahangir Hossain passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed by Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB).  Earlier on Sunday, Lawyer of the Supreme Court Advocate Monjil Morshed filed the writ on behalf of Asaduzzaman Siddiqui, general secretary of Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB) seeking stay on the DCC polls. banglanews24.com

17 April 2012- Mayoral candidate for Dhaka City Corporation (South) polls Dr. Tuhin Malik Tuesday petitioned challenging the High Court’s stay order on the polls. Chamber Judge Syed Mahmud Hossain, after preliminary hearing on the plea, set April 19 for hearing the petition in the full bench of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. Dr. Tuhin Malik filed the petition with the Chamber Judge court against the HC stay order on bifurcated DCC polls. On Monday, the High Court stayed the polls of bifurcated Dhaka City Corporation for three months. 18 April 2012- Police could not find any trace of M Elias Ali, BNP Sylhet division organizing secretary, who went missing on early Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Gulshan Division Lutful Kabir informed it to reporters at Gulshan DC office at noon. 19 April 2012- Chairman of National Human Rights Commission Dr. Mizanur Rahman said the state will be accountable to international organizations over citizen missing incidents.
