03 June 2012- A Bandarban court Sunday sent 12 detained Myanmar nationals to jail for their illegal intrusion in Bangladesh. District Judicial Magistrate Court passed the order after they were produced before the court. They are Shamsul Alam, Nur Mohammad, Abul Foiz, Abu Syed, Kabir Ahmad, Jahir Uddin, Sharif Uddin, Mojibur Rahman, Ziaur Rahman, Abul Kashem, Abdullah, and Azizul Haque. 04 June 2012- Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed said the upgrading of voter list will be completed in due time. He said, “I am hopeful about 100 percent transparent and acceptable voter list.” He came up with the expectation after emerging from a meeting with election commissioner at the office of Election Commission (EC) on Monday. He said, “The first phase upgrading work of voter lists have already been completed in 64 upazilas under 64 districts. The second phase work is underway in 69 upazilas.” banglanews24.com

06 June 2012- The High Court Wednesday issued a suo moto rule upon the government to explain within two weeks why it should not be directed to take punitive action against six police officials for abusing girl and assaulting journos. The court also summoned police authorities before it on June 15 to explain details of the incident. The HC bench of Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik and Justice Jahangir Hossain Selim issued the rule following newspaper reports on girl’s abuse and assault journalists in Judge Court area. banglanews24.com

07 June 2012- Chief Justice M Mozammel Hossain called on Speaker of National Parliament Abdul Hamid Thursday. Source said the meeting took place at Speaker’s office in the parliament in the evening.Speaker’s personal secretary Zainal Abedin confirmed the matter to banglanews. However, he could not disclose any detailed information about the meeting. 08 June 2012-  A two-day village court conference is set to kick off in the capital on Saturday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the conference at Bangabandhu International Conference Center at about 10am Saturday. Among others, local government minister Syed Ashraful Islam, state minister Jahangir Kabir Nanok, lawmakers, civil society and over 700 representatives from union level are likely to attend the programme. banglanews24.com
