India’s NHRC support sought over Falani murder

DHAKA:  Bangladesh National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) chairman Dr Mizanur Rahman sought India Human Rights Commission’s support for justice of Felani murder.

“The 13-year old Felani was killed by Indian Border Security Force (BSF). But her father did not get justice till now’, he added.

Mizanur also demanded more freedom for NHRC by increasing its power so that the commission can take actions.

He came up with these assertions while speaking in a meeting at CIRDAP in city on Sunday.

While speaking as chief guest, Jatiya Sangsad speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury said Bangladesh Bank reserve, remittance income and other indicators are going positively that proves that the country is running on right track.

Women and Children affairs state minister Meher Afroz Chumky, foreign affairs state minister Shahriar Alam, Nepal’s NHRC member justice Prkash Chandra Asthi and Indian NHRC member Justice D Murugesan, among others, were present as special guests.

Chumky also expected that the court will also bring justice in Rajon, Rakib and other child murder case as the alleged murderers have been arrested.
