DHAKA: The High Court (HC) on Monday (April 18) withdrew the stay order on the proceedings of a case filed against Bangla daily ‘Janakantha’ editor Atiqullah Khan Masud on charge of publishing photos and identity of a victim woman.
Lawyers said this has cleared way for the lower court concerned to resume trial proceedings against the ‘Janakantha’ editor.
A two-member HC vacation bench comprising Justice M Emdadul Haque and Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan passed the order.
Helal Uddin Molla moved for the woman in the court while Shahjada Al Amin moved for the Janakantha editor.
