DHAKA: President Abdul Hamid appointed eight additional justices of the High Court as permanent justices.

The law ministry issued a gazette notification about the appointments on Tuesday (February 7).

The eight justices are: SM Mojibur Rahman, Rajik Al Jalil, Bhismadeb Chakrabarti, Md Selim, Md Sohrawardi, Khijir Ahmed Chowdhury, Md Iqbal Kabir Lytton and Amir Hossain.

Earlier on February 12, 2015, they took oath as additional HC justices.

Additional justice Farid Ahmed Shibli was dropped from the confirmation while JN Deb Chowdhury has died.
