Man to die for schoolboy murder in Natore

NATORE: A Natore court on Thursday (April 20) awarded death penalty to a youth for kidnapping and killing a schoolboy Ananta Chakrabarty in the district.
   
The convict Ashraf Ali, 28, is son of Akbar Ali of Halsa village under Natore sadar upazila.

Acting judge of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Md Rezaul Karim pronounced the verdict.

The court acquitted two others accused in the case. They are Shahjahan Ali, 30, son of Mohsin Ali of Halsa village, and Abdullah-al-Mamun, 25, son of Soleman Ali of the same village.

According to the case statement, 12-year old Anantra Chakrabarty, son of Ashoke Kumar Chakrabarty of the Halsa village, was kidnapped and killed by the convict. Anantra was a student of Class VI of Halsa High School.
