FARIDPUR: A tribunal on Tuesday (June 6) has sentenced life term imprisonment to three people for killing an 8-year-old minor, Taz Mohammad, in Faridpur.

Judge of Faridpur Woman and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal Mohammad Rafiqul Islam passed the order acquitting two others in the case.

The convicts are Hemayet Hossain, 26, Akhter Munshi, 32 ans Shipan Sardar, 26. Two of them are absconding. 

Tribunal Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Swapan Kumar Pal said, the convicts abducted Taz Mohammad, son of Harun-or-Rashid and Helena Yasmin from Hasamdia area in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur on June 16 in 2011. Later on June 18, his body was found in a jute field at Lakshandia village under Pangsha upazila of Rajbari district.

Deceased’s father filed a murder case with the Boalmari police station accusing five people.
