MOULVIBAZAR: A district court has sentenced life term imprisonment to a militant in a case filed in 2016 for possessing illegal arms in Moulvibazar.

Judge of Moulvibazar Special Judges Court-2 Mohammad Rafiqul Islam passed the order on Sunday (July 9) in presence of the convict.

The convict is Lutfur Rahman Harun, son of one Amiruddin from Budhpasha village of Kulaura upazila. He was engaged in militant activities for long. 

Police detained him after he had returned home from India where he spent four years in jail. On June 6 last year, Kulaura thana police filed a case against him under arms act.
