DHAKA: The appellate division upheld a High Court order that imposed restriction on publishing the results of written test for the post of senior officer of Janata Bank and its further proceedings.
A three member appeal bench headed by Chief Justice SK Sinha passed the order on Monday (July 10) rejecting a ‘leave to appeal’ filed by the examination committee.
Lawyer BM Ilias Kochi along with Barrister Jyotirmay Barua moved for the writ petition while attorney general Momtazuddin Fakir moved for examination committee of the bank.
Barrister Jyotirmay Barua said on Monday that Dean of Social Science Faculty of Dhaka University filed the petition for the bank’s examination committee against the High Court order. The apex court rejected the plea upholding the HC ban order.
Earlier on April 21, the recruitment test was held in city’s Eden College, Lalmatia College and Ideal College. After the test, many examinees have claimed about question paper leaks. However, the person in charge of that test, Fariduddin Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Dhaka University, denied the allegation.
Later 15 job seekers filed the writ petition with the High Court.
