MANIKGANJ: A district court has awarded death sentence to three people for killing boatman Abdur Razzak at Bahadurpur area under Harirampur upazila in Manikganj.

District and Sessions Judge Md. Mizanur Rahman Khan delivered the verdict on Tuesday (July 18) in presence of the three convicts.

The court also fined the convicts Tk. 20,000 each.

The convicts are Monirul Islam Rubel, Rashed Molla and Kartik Hawlader.
 
According to the case statement, Abdur Razzak was killed by the three convicts on July 5 in 2015 after hiring his boat. After killing, they fled the area with the boat.  
 
Later, the deceased brother filed a case with Harirampur police station in this connection.
