PIROJPUR: A district court has awarded life term imprisonment to a man on charge of killing a motorcycle drive in Pirojpur.

Judge of District and Sessions Court in Pirojpur Rafiqul Islam delivered the verdict on Tuesday (September 26).

The court also fined the convict Tk. 20,000, in default, six months more imprisonment. The court, however, gave three years jail term for the convict for destroying evidence of the murder.

The convict is Md Sohel Hawlader, 30, son of Khalik Hawlader of Boro Kholishakhali village under Pirojpur municipality.

Sohel killed Md Shaheed, 20, who was a driver of motorcycle,  on August 29 in 2010.
