Judges’ code of conduct soon keeping President authority intact

DHAKA: Attorney General Mahbube Alam has said that job discipline and code of conduct for the lower court judges will be formulated soon, retaining the power of President.

He said this while replying to a question of journalists at his office in the Supreme Court building on Sunday (October 08).

Earlier on the day, the five-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Acting Chief Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah set the deadline November 05 to the government for issuing the gazette notification in this regard.

The apex court issued the order, responding a time plea from the state for four weeks. Mahbubey Alam moved for the state in the hearing.

Earlier, on August 20, a six-member Appellate division bench led by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha extended the time till October 08.
