MYMENSINGH: A district court has awarded life term imprisonment to a man on charge of killing his wife at Ishwarganj upazila in Mymensingh in 2010.

Judge of the Additional District and Sessions Court-2 in Mymensingh Jahirul Kabir delivered the verdict on Sunday (October 15).

The court also fined the convict Tk. 5,000, in default, two months more imprisonment.

Bench assistant of the court Mozibur Rahman confirmed the matter to the Banglanews.

According to the case statement, the convict Aminul Haque Khokon, 25, killed his wife Parul Akhter at his residence at Jhigaltola village under Sohagi union at Ishwarganj upazila on June 12 in 2010 over family feud.

Later, Khokon’s father Fakhruddin filed a case in this connection. Kohon was arrested in that time and he has been in detention since then.
