SYLHET: A Sylhet court has awarded life term imprisonment to four people in mason Ali Haider killing case.  

Judge of the Additional District and Sessions Court-1 in Sylhet A.M. Julfikar Hayat delivered the verdict on Sunday (October 29).

The court also fined the convicts Tk. 50,000 each. The court, however, acquitted two accused in the case.

The convicted persons are- Koysor, 38, son of Rois Ullah of Prothom Pasha village under Osmani Nagar upazila in the district, his brother Babul Mia, 43, Moboshir, son of Intaz Ullah of the same area, and Maitu Munda Razu, 36, son of Pathor Munda of Chandmarabosti Dedondi Tea Garden of Chunarughat in Habiganj.

The convicts are now in the jail.

According to the case statement, mason Ali Haider, 17, of Prothom Pasha village and his father Ustar Ali had worked in the residence of Azmat Member of the village.

Ali Haider was killed after he was abducted from the residence on February 28 in 2003. He was killed over love affairs.
