2 get life for killing Ondho Sangstha leader

DHAKA: A tribunal on Wednesday (Nov 8) sentenced life term imprisonment to two people for killing Idris Ali, a blind leader of Jatiya Ondho Sangstha, over organization’s fund allocation dispute.

Judge Sayeed Ahmed of Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 also fined the convicts Tk 10,000 each, in default, one more year in prison. 

The convicts sentenced for life are- Nasima Akhter Parvin, 35 and Chunnu Sardar, 40. 

The court also sentenced seven years imprisonment to another accused Roni and fined Tk 5,000, in default, six more months in prison.

According to case statements, on July 6 in 2011, the convicts killed Idris Ali after summoning him to the Jatiya Ondho Sangstha office in city’s Chakbazar area.

Victim’s daughter Bilkis Begum filed a murder case with the Chakbazar police station.
