DHAKA: Attorney General Mahbubey Alam has once again received the death threat through a letter.
A general diary (GD) was lodged with city’s Shahbagh Police Station in this connection on Sunday (December 24). Attorney General’s personal secretary Kabir Ahmed filed the GD.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahbagh Police Station Abul Hasan said that the GD was filed at about 4:00 pm. They are investigating the matter.
Earlier on December 07, the Attorney General received a death threat through a letter sent by one who described himself as an expelled Awami League leader.
In that time, Mahbubey Alam said, “I have received a letter in which its sender has asked me to get prepared for the death.”
He received such death threats around four other times after he was appointed as Attorney General in 2009.
He first received the death threat as the Attorney General on November 18 in 2009. He had received the death threat by post. Police had arrested one in this connection.
Later, he received the death threat on October 22 in 2013, August 09 in that year, May 30 in 2016 and at last December 07 in 2017.
