DHAKA: Law Minister Anisul Huq said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government is giving priority to dispose of cases which are under trail.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq was addressing a function on the occasion of ‘National Legal Aid Day – 2018’ organized in Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Saturday (April 28).
“The government is committed to settle cases, in which people are in jail without trial, in other words cases which are under trial,” Anisul Huq said.
Anisul Haque said Public awareness is needed first to get legal service. That's why campaign is necessary, because many folks are illiterate. The day is observed to create awareness among them.
Bangladesh is observing this day for the sixth time. This year’s slogan is “The country is advancing through progress and justice, Bangladesh is benefiting from the fruits of Legal Aid.”
The day is being observed through various programs, seminars, blood donation programs, cultural programs, and processions in district levels, including the program of Osmani Memorial Auditorium.
