DHAKA: Law Minister Anisul Huq said exemplary punishment will be given through speedy trial over the death of two students on city’s Airport Road.
Besides, the minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for salvation of the departed souls.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered that Road Transport law to be placed at the cabinet soon. The Law Ministry has sent it to Road Transport and Bridge Ministry with the vetting of the law on Wednesday (August 1).
Speaking about the proposed law, he said, “This law is very modern. There are many issues which have never been addressed.”
The law minister said, “Road accidents have increased over the last few days. Various types of road accidents are now taking place. We’re speculating the cause of road accidents.”
On Sunday, 2 students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College were killed as a speedy bus hit them on Airport Road of the capital city.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Karim, 16 and Diya, 15. Twelve others were injured in the accident.
